step forward a little lighter, clearer, and more grounded than before.

This evening's Virgo New Moon marks a threshold. It's all about refinement—clearing away what no longer fits so you can move forward with greater intention. Given that it’s the last New Moon of summer and the first New Moon after eclipse season, it feels like both a beginning and an ending.
A moment to exhale after months of movement.
If you're based in SoCal, we've been living through an UNREAL heat wave—with humidity that we are absolutely NOT built for. 😂
As uncomfortable as it's been, I couldn't help but think about how much this heat feels like a Temazcal Ceremony unfolding in everyday life.
Temazcal Ceremonies date back thousands of years to the Indigenous peoples of Mesoamerica, where participants gather inside a small, dome-shaped sweat lodge. With each round of rising heat comes an invitation to RElease—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—creating space for REnewal. The lodge symbolizes the womb of Mother Earth, making the ceremony one of purification, REnewal, and symbolic REbirth.
This New Moon carries that same energy.
It's turning up the heat just enough that whatever has been lingering beneath the surface can no longer stay hidden.
Old habits.
Reactive patterns.
Stories you've outgrown.
They're asking to be released—not through force, but through awareness.
Just like in a Temazcal Ceremony, the heat isn't there to punish you. It's there to reveal what you're ready to release. Remember, things are happening FOR you, not TO you.
Virgo reminds us that our power isn't found in controlling everything around us. It's found in choosing how we respond.
It's not the circumstance creating your suffering—it's the story you continue to tell yourself and others. And this story is what creates the “truth” in your mind, not the actual circumstances.
Virgo teaches us discernment. And discernment is different from judgment. Judgment criticizes. Discernment simply recognizes what nourishes you and what no longer does.
It also reminds us that kindness and honesty don't have to exist separately. You can speak your truth directly while still leading with compassion. You can maintain a connection without abandoning yourself. You can disagree without creating division.
This isn't about striving for perfection. It's about choosing what genuinely supports your well-being and letting go of what simply drains your energy. More often than not, what exhausts us isn't the event itself—it's the resistance, overthinking, and stories we build around it.
The decisions you make now have the potential to shape the months ahead. Choose from clarity rather than urgency. From your values rather than your triggers. From your future self rather than your temporary emotions.
Think fairness. Think integrity. Think devotion over perfection.
May this Virgo New Moon be your own quiet Temazcal Ceremony—a chance to sweat out what no longer belongs, remember what does, and step forward a little lighter, clearer, and more grounded than before.
Happy Virgo New Moon. 🤍
From my heart to yours,
Maja Re
JOURNAL PROMPTS:
1. What is the heat of this season trying to reveal that I've been unwilling to see?
2. Where am I creating unnecessary suffering through the story I'm telling myself about this situation?
3. What would change if I responded from a place of clarity instead of reacting from emotion?
CRYSTAL PARINGS:
Picture Jasper // Helps you zoom out and see the bigger picture instead of getting caught in the moment's reaction.
Nuummite // Has a very deep, earthy, almost primordial quality and is often associated with protection, inner work, and bringing hidden patterns to the surface.
Fire Agate // Represents moving through intensity without being consumed by it. Reminds you that you've released something, and now you have the fire and vitality to move differently.
